The Polytechnic University of Valencia has several research structures with high experience and research level. The activity areas are the Centre for Research in Management and Production Engineering (CIGIP), the Centre of Physical Technologies: Acoustics, Materials and Astrophysics (CTFAMA), Group of Analysis of the Languages of Specialty (GALE), Group of Communications Applied to Telematic Networks (GATACA), Group of Electrocatalysis, Electrochemical Synthesis and Characterization of Polymers (GESEP), Research Group Strategic Alliances, Networks and Territory (AERT), Research Group on International Economics and Development (GEI), Group of Advanced Oxidation Processes (AOP), Group of Industrial Electronic Systems (GESEI), Integral Management Group of the Textile Industry. (GIITEX), the Institute of Materials Technology (ITM), including the DEMES research Group, The University Institute of Multidisciplinary Mathematics (IMM), The University Institute for Industrial, Radio physical and Environmental Safety (ISIRYM) and Joint University Institute of Information Technology (ITI).

The Materials Technology Institute started its activity in 2005. The mission of the Materials Technology Institute (ITM), is to offer a comprehensive R + D + service in the business, industrial and construction sectors, which provides important supports to business in order Satisfy their technological and research needs in the field of Materials, Processes and Treatments. For this, ITM's main objective is to coordinate and expand the research offer of the research groups working in Materials Science and Technology of the Polytechnic University of Valencia, by optimizing the infrastructure and research teams, enhancing the multidisciplinary projects.
